As a highly skilled Final Cut Pro editor and an audio-visual storyteller with heart and inspiration, Lane Wyrick has extensive experience in documentary filmmaking and editing, and in creating professional-level productions for a wide variety of clients.

BACKGROUND: Lane Wyrick graduated from Film School with high distinction at the University of Iowa in 1990, then spent four years learning the craft of professional film production in Los Angeles. To pursue his desire for creative and technical expression and to serve clients with his video production skills, he moved to Iowa City and formed Xap Interactive, Inc., an all-digital production company where he shot, directed, and edited umerous high-quality productions from 1995 through 2010.

In January 2011, Wyrick became the full time Director of Video Production and Editing at Quality Medical Publishing, where he had freelanced for several years previously.. Read his article on "Tips for Using Video in Your Practice" written for QMP's e-newsletter Plastic Surgery Pulse News.

Through this position he travels the country videotaping surgeries, events and other medical related videos that he then edits and produces on DVD and for the web.

A magnificent array of ever changing scenes and sounds of nature that are both relaxing and engaging, captured by Lane Wyrick over a three year time period. XapVision Nature Scenes is used by hospitals, hospice organizations, nursing homes, daycares/preschools, as well as by hundreds of individuals of all ages. (

The Nazi Drawings (Half hour documentary) - 2000
An award-winning documentary exploring the history and passion behind Artist Mauricio Lasansky’s stunning artistic portrayal of the victims and aftermath of Nazi atrocities. A powerful documentary with a very strong anti-violence message. Winner of the Mid-America Emmy Award for Best Documentary, and broadcast on PBS stations across the nation in 2005 during Holocaust Remembrance Month.

A Walking Miracle – The Ponseti Method for Clubfoot Treatment (15 min. DVD) - 2007
An exploration of internationally-renowned Dr. Ignacio Ponseti’s highly successful non-surgical treatment of babies with clubfeet using the revolutionary casting method he developed over 60 years. This production has been used to promote the Ponseti Method worldwide.

Created many medical productions, including live surgical procedures streaming over the internet, web Video On Demand (VOD), and DVDs for national surgery companies – Clients include Ethicon, Baxter, Gyrus-ACMI Corporation, Univ. of Iowa Hospitals, Medical Education Advocates (Georgia), Mercy Iowa City, Guidant, Iowa City Plastic Surgery, and individual surgeons across the East Coast & Midwest. Wyrick has worked in extreme surgical environments and in a variety of hospital and clinic situations

Three hour online video training course for medical practices teaching employees safety procedures, featuring actors portraying scenarios dealing with safety in the work environment

Video exploring the history and variety of services provided by the Mercy Regional Community Hospitals – Chicago and surrounding regions (20 min.)

Iowa District East: Board for Congregational Services created “Living The Life of the Baptized – A Study of Christian Witness Through the Doctrine of Vocation” – DVD used for teaching in churches through documentary style interviews, hymns, and scenarios – 2005

Our Redeemer Lutheran Church – created the “Our Redeemer 50th Anniversary DVD” (17 min. - 2007), “Renewing The Vision” (12 min. - 2005), and “Building The Vision” (13 min. - 1996). Also was involved in running the live switcher for recording the church services, and editing of “Kyrgyzstan: Love Grows A Church” outreach video filmed by church members overseas (15 min. – 2007)
